British Airways World Cargo doubles Islamabad services (31/10/2007)

British Airways World Cargo has announced an increase to its existing services between Islamabad and London Heathrow from three to six rotations per week, following a positive market response to recent freighter introductions in Pakistan. The new services will double capacity in the region from 29 October 2007.

The new mainline Boeing 777 flights will complement BA World Cargo's two weekly B727F freighter routings (Karachi - Bahrain; Lahore - Bahrain) launched in July 2007, and will cater to Pakistan's increasing strength as a manufacturing hub within the South Asia region.

Johnny Rubio, area commercial manager, Middle East, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, BA World Cargo commented: "The new services build on our earlier success in Pakistan and demonstrate our commitment to providing customers with additional capacity to key markets in the US, Europe, and Africa. Following our customers' requests we have significantly increased our presence in the region to accommodate strong traffic demand from the garment, textile, surgical, carpets, leather and sporting goods industries. "
